BBC Radio Ripper

I have been using this great piece of software, BBC Radio Ripper, does what is says on the box. Supply it with the URL for the BBC listen again page and it converts it to an mp3. All ready to be added to your ipod. I have tried a few others that offered this functionality but without success. Highly recommended.

Cooking disasters

Today is Caroline's birthday. Happy birthday Caroline. She came over for dinner with Oliva and Charles. Starter was a broad bean and sundried tomato salad, cheese fondue as a main course with chocolate cake and cream for desert.

How hard can making a cheese fondue be? Find a receipe that includes gin, good start. On no account substitute edam for gouda. If you do substitute you may well have to make a trip to the local convieience store for more cheese.

Take 2 using cheddar and the spirit of the original recipe worked.

Fingle Bridge

As mealy bug is ten weeks old today we decided to go on a bit of a trek to test out the off road capabilities of her pushcair. Off we went down the A30 to Fingle Bridge, a local beauty spot with a stunning bluebell wood.

We set off aiming to do part of a walk we did at about this time last year, but this time loaded down with cameras as the shades of green were phenomenal. We aimed to walk along one side of the river cross over and walk back along the other bank. We met a number of people along the way who enquired if we knew the path or how far we were going. The going got steeper and steeper with poor little mealy bug be bounced around and sleeping through it all.

We almost wimped out and turned back but just managed to make it. Once we were over the river there was only a small stone wall with style to negotiate, from there on was an easy trip back to Fingle Bridge for a quick pint before heading home.
